Happy October! I am going to show you how I made Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma pumpkins! This DIY is fairly simple and so cute!
You will need:
- 2 small pumpkins, one slightly smaller than the other(for Korilakkuma)
- Acrylic paint
- Paint brushes
- Black felt
- Scissors
- Chalk
- Hot glue gun
- Twine (optional to tie around your witch hats)
Paint Rilakkuma's face on. Save your smaller pumpkin for
Korilakkuma! I'm using acrylic paint. It dries fast and if you make a mistake
just wipe it off with a wet paper towel. For finer detailed mistakes, wet a
q-tip.
Time to make your hats! These shapes above are what makes the cone
shapes of the witch hats. Trace little half circles with mugs and instead of
completing the half circles, take a ruler or straight edged object and trace up
to lines that meet like an obtuse triangle. My shapes are not precise and I
didn't use measurements but if you use this general shape it doesn't matter if
it is exact. Use chalk so you can easily erase mistakes on the felt by rubbing
the chalk off with a paper towel. Use a mug with a larger diameter for
Rilakkuma and a smaller one for Korilakkuma. Cut out these shapes.
Take your cut out shapes and fold one edge to another as pictured
above. Secure edges with hot glue.
Trace the the diameter of a mug that will fit the top of
Rilakkuma's head. This will be the brim of the hat. Cut out with
scissors.
I am repeating the step above but using the bottom of this mug's diameter (which is smaller) for the brim of Korilakkuma's hat. Cut out with scissors.
Add a dab of glue in the center of each brim like this and attach the tops of your hats which are the little cone shapes.
I added a silver and black bow but this step is optional!
Enjoy your Rilakkuma and Korilakkum pumpkin decorations! Happy crafting. Love and pumpkin spice!
