DIY: My Little Twin Star milkshakes! Pastel vibes & Funfetti acid trip nails

My love for Sanrio will live on forever. Ever since my sister and I were little we would beg our mom to take us to the Sanrio store if we promised to be good. I still frequent the store and I don't give a cats turd if I am a grown woman!

The bestie and I found these HK Halloween rave cups at Walgreens!! When I say rave I mean there is a button at the bottom of the cup and it flashes purple... :O

Is it just me or does every Sanrio store smell like strawberry milk candy and happiness? The smell of the candy in there permeates through all the packaging. I just love it.

Speaking of strawberry milk, my first DIY on the blog is a Little Twin Star strawberry milk shake

All you really need is strawberry ice cream and this stuff:

I found these boba style straws at a grocery store called Fresh and easy along with the star sprinkles and strawberry pocky. Sipping a milkshake with a chubbier straw just makes drinking a milk shake that much easier! Try to find these straws at your local Asian grocery store or even Amazon it's worth it.

While blending your shake, splash in milk (vanilla almond and soy tastes good too in my opinion). I used an immersion blender to blend my shakes right in the cup because it's the closest I can get to the creamy smooth goodness of a real milk shake machine like they have in diners. The strawberry ice cream I bought also wasn't as pink as I wanted so I stirred in some red granulated sprinkles, obviously you could also use red food dye but I didn't have any on hand! Add whipped cream, star sprinkles, strawberry Pocky, and straw and you are ready to sip your treat! The Pocky is so yummy to dip into the shake it's like a double strawberry rainbow

I find that surrounding myself with pastels is a real mood lifter. I recently did some kawaii pastel nails that I'm quite happy with! They took a while to dry in between a base coat, 2 coats of white and then the other colors I blotted in. I call
these nails funfetti acid trip.

I blot the colors in with a disposable makeup sponge and did 2 coats of my favorite Nails Inc 45 Second Top Coat. I have to use this top coat because I am a freak and can't sit still for one second to let my nails dry! For this style of watercolor like design you have to use lots of layers of polish which gets thick and tacky and takes forever to dry so fast drying products are a plus.

This top coat is my holy grail top coat. I've lived without it and tried other things like Skinfood Fruit Drink Nail Top Coat which is less than half the price of the Nails Inc one but just doesn't get as shiny and doesn't make my manicure last an entire week like Nails Inc. I have since then switched back to Nails Inc top coat but the real bummer is that the new packaging is bigger therefore the product itself is more expensive now at a whopping $15 (I used to get it for $11 which I wasn't crying about). To tell you the truth though, if you do your nails and nail art enough its totally worth it!

  Any who, product rant aside, I hope this post interesting for you. Remember to t r e a t y o s e l f! Love and milkshakes!
