FOTD: Glitter eyes and coral lips

This look is so simple and pretty for an everyday winter look. I love rocking glitter eyes, especially during the holidays and beyond. The trick is, is to paint on the liner all over the lid, like you would paint glitter on your nails. Pat and paint on sparkle on the center of the lids, and carefully out towards the corner of the eye and a dab in the center to really open your eyes up and make them shine.

During the day time, a tinted balm, (like the one I'm using) on the lips and a bit of Mauve blush brushed on the apples of the cheeks make the face look so wintery and cute, as if you just skated on a frozen pond! (haha)

Urban Decay's Heavy Metal glitter liner and Anthropologie's tinted balm in Strawberry. How cute is that packaging?

Life is too short.. you should wear sparkle every day!

FOTD: Snow Bunny

Look of the Week: Snow Bunny

LOOK OF THE WEEK: Snow Bunny

On the eyes: Makeup forever studio case shadows M-530, and ME-122 highlighting my upper eyelid, Urban Decay Naked Basics 'Frisk' and 'Primal' on the crease, and more  Makeup Forever's M-530 and Urban Decay's 'Skimp'.

On the cheeks is a dash of Elf's 'Mellow Mauve' and Benefit's Watts up highlighter. On the lips is Tony Moly Petite Bunny gloss in Juicy Strawberry.

After receiving the Makeup Forever's studio kit as a Christmas present, the first look I wanted to try out for the holidays was a frosty smoked out eye. To achieve the snow bunny look all you really need is a very pigmented shimmering white shadow and a pale pink lipstick! You might be gravitating toward a red lip for the chillier seasons, but trying out a soft smoked out pale eye and lip can be so pretty for winter! This look is best worn with a Delusional favorite.. a fur coat of course! Pair a statement outfit with your frosty eyes, fur, and a Delusions of Grandeur basic, and you are all glammed up and ready to party!

DIY: Holiday Confetti Bark

Holiday Confetti Bark

Still scratching your head to figure out what you will give your coworkers, teachers, friends, and family for the holidays? If your in a pinch for a gift, this recipe is for those people with a sweet tooth and requires no baking! Tis the season to make and eat chocolate bark!

RECIPE

  • 2 bags Ghiradelli chocolate chips (get the good stuff, it tastes SO much better)
  • 1 bag of mini marshmallows
  • Multi colored or holiday themed sprinkles
  • parchment paper
  • baking sheet

Bring a pot of water to boil. Empty half a bag of chocolate chips on a double boiler or in a glass bowl big enough to cover a medium sized sauce pan. Slowly add more and more chips of an entire bag  while the others dissolve. Once you have a nice melted consistency, sprinkle an even amount of mini marshmallows on a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cover the marshmallows with melted chocolate. This is the first process, so stick your chocolate covered marshmallows into the freezer until the chocolate cools and hardens. Continue to heat another bag of chips, and once melted, take the bark out of the freezer and repeat another layer of marshmallows and melted chocolate. Make sure to get the mallows even, because you want a nice layered amount in every bite. Once you layer your marshmallows in the chocolate, place more on top for presentation, along with your sprinkles. Cover the bark with a layer of parchment and a kitchen towel. Grab a cooking spoon or rolling pin and get out all your anger! Smash the bark into medium sized pieces. Don't go too crazy though, you don't want to ruin the sprinkles, or the prettiness! You are done!

Gift Wrapping

If this is for someone extra special, buy a cute wide mouth tea cup to place your bark in, and cover with a clear plastic treat bag. You can find a pack of 25 treat bags for about a dollar at your local craft store! Tie with festive twine or ribbon and add a candy cane. Or, if you are looking for a simple statement, place your bark in a treat bag and tie with twine and a candy cane. So easy, festive, and adorable!

Happy cooking and happy holidays!

DIY: cuter ornaments with nail polish!

I had boring white pearl ornaments before, but with a little help from my nail polish collection, they are now fabulous!

All you need to do is paint on your colors, and if you use glitter, makeup sponges are best to evenly distribute the sparkle. I also thought it would be cute to paint the base and hook of the ornament different pastels. If you have frosted ornaments like I did, clear nail polish will turn them into a mirror-like finish.. pretty!

When I was done I used some baker's twine to hang them up on my before, plain antler plaque. Now it's festive and during the day the sunlight catches the sparkle!

Happy holidays from the Craft Bunny! Craft on..

Coral lips and cheeks with new face Nicole B

I did makeup and styling for a shoot with one of my best friends and creative partners Jillian Lieber, featuring gorgeous new face Nicole B with my agency, Stars Model Mgmt

I wanted to keep Nicole's makeup natural, but bring elements of dewy skin, strong brows, and pops of coral all over her face. Jill and I wanted to style with black and white with a boho-western vibe.

I wanted to give her a messy, low, 60's inspired pony tail.

Look number 1 was Nicole's own Forever 21 floral dress and a deep middle part with lightly glossed lips for a beauty shot.

 The finished images by Jill

On her cheeks and lips I used Stila Convertible Color in Gladiola and layered a little bit of Makeup Forever Rough Artist Intense in Satin Orange Coral in the center of her lips. I defined her eyes with smoky brown and taupe with the Naked Basics palette and filled her brows in with 'Crave.'

Jelly sandwich nails DIY

Here's a repost of the nail DIY I did for the shopdelusions.blogspot ! I will now be posting nails of the week and lipstick of the week, so check back on the shop Delusions blog and their Instagram @shopdelusions!

These nails are so pretty and festive for the holidays! Not only are they sparkly, but also subtle since the glitter is sealed inside a 'jelly sandwich' or a sheer, glossy semi translucent nail polish.

Here I am using two coats of 'Bubble Bath' by OPI, my 'bread' of the jelly sandwich.
Generously paint one coat of glitter. The darker the glitter, the more the glitter will show through the translucent 'jelly' polish.

Be careful when using OPI 'Bubble Bath' because it gets a little thick and can easily cover all your sparkles!

Paint your work with a shiny top coat. My favorite is Nails inc. 45 second nail top coat. It's a little pricey ($14) but makes your manicure last a week even if you're using cheap nail polish colors. Hope you try these nails out and enjoy them! Stay fabulous!

Vanilla Cranberry Cider recipe

I wanted to bring my Fri D I Y post from the Shop Delusions blogspot over to the Craft Bunny since it's the season for hot drinks and the more yummy posts, the better!

This recipe can be spiked or left alone to enjoy by itself.

Don't you love my grandma mug from Goodwill?

This recipe makes just enough for you or two if you spike it!

This recipe was some what eyeballed but you really can't screw it up unless you add too much cranberry juice.
  • 1 cup unfiltered organic apple cider
  • 3/4 cup cranberry juice
  • handful of fresh cranberries
  • 1 tea bag of mulling spices
  • small splash of vanilla
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • whipped cream
  • 2 shots of Bourbon optional!

Vanilla extract makes cider just that much more amazing, trust me! I am already using apple cider but I want to take the extra step to make my cider very spiced. The Martinelli's mulling spice tea bags are so easy to throw in, I like to keep them on hand in the winter for a spicy pick me up on a cold night. A handful of cranberries make your cider pretty to look at and nice balance the sweet with tartness. It's important to the flavor profile to use unfiltered cider if you want it to taste like you're biting into an apple and not sugar coated apple water, so do yourself a favor and splurge for that classy organic stuff!

Add cranberries, dash of vanilla, mulling tea bag, and a splash of cranberry juice to your cider and bring to a simmer. Add your desired amount of bourbon, I like it strong so I do 2 little shots!  Top your drink with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Enjoy! Also check out my last DIY for the Shop Delusions blog, DIY Tea Satchel Potpourri ! Love and Cinnamon.
